Tom Wiper, 30, is a Trainee Branch Manager at Baxter Personnel's Darlington Branch. Tom has worked for the business for 3 years and has made fantastic progress in his career during his time at Baxter Personnel, from starting out as a Recruitment Consultant with the company. We asked Tom some questions about his career, and here is what he had to say...
What influenced your decision to join Baxter Personnel?
From the first interview I had with Baxter Personnel I knew that the company had real ambition, and a plan for where it wanted to go over the next 5 years. There was the chance of working with and learning from an excellent management team, and opportunities for career progression. It was a no-brainer for me to come on board when I was offered the job.
What does your role involve at Baxter Personnel?
Managing a solid client base, which I have built up over the past 3 years, as well as what I enjoy the most, winning new business. I also manage a large candidate base for both temporary and permanent staff. Both of these elements mean I get to work with some fantastic people, finding them the perfect candidates for their roles.
What have your biggest high points or success been during your career at Baxter Personnel?
Winning Employee of the Year 2015! It shows that all the hard work that has been put into my career has been recognised and paid off. Over the last year, I singlehandedly generated over 1 million pounds worth of placements for the business, a massive achievement for both myself and the company.
How would you describe company culture and working environment at Baxter Personnel?
Baxter Personnel offer a very ambitious, hardworking and supportive culture. The company encourages you to follow your own ambitions and will guide you along the way to succeed. The working environment is superb. Everyone in the business is here to succeed and that shows with a fantastic office atmosphere. You can’t beat a busy office!

Listen, take criticism and learn. Trust in the processes and follow them. Believe me, you will see your career develop with this company!
